Green-wich time (gren'ich: chiefly Brit. gren'ij) The mean solar time at the meridian at Greenwich, England, used as a reference in determining standard throughout most of the world.
me-rid-i-an Geog. A great circle of the earth passing through both poles.
lon-gi-tude Geog. Distance east or west on the earth measured by the angle which a specific place as it intersects with some standard meridian, as that of Greenwich, England.
leap year A year of 366 days, an additional day being added to February. Every year exactly divisible by four, or in century years, by 400, is a leap year.
chro-nom-e-ter n. A timekeeping instrument of high precision and accuracy.
time zone One of the 24 established divisions or sectors into which the earth is divided for convenience for convenience in reckoning time: each sector represents 15 degrees of longitude, or a time interval of one hour.

- A period of great happiness or human perfection
